Easiest way to get into the Movies! We made props for the movie Joy!!

Posted by Jessica Lynn Mould on

With only a few days prior to filming the scene in Joy were hired to get a custom rubber stamp to the set, ASAP! Joy is the story of the title character, who rose to become founder and matriarch of a powerful family business dynasty. This movie features: Jennifer Lawrence, Robert DeNiro, and Bradley Cooper.

We started by working with the set designer who was looking for a custom rubber stamp that had a custom logo (Rudy’s Auto) and was vintage looking.  I started by requesting the custom art that they wanted to use for the custom logo.  I spent a few hours looking up red rubber stamps from the late 70’s which has a cherry wood color stain for most of them. The only thing I can think of is if they were that color because the number one ink pad color from then was red.

We spend the afternoon creating four of these so that we could send them the best two and hold on to the other two for our JessicaLynnOriginal featured wall. I love being able to share all of our moments. It inspired me to keep moving forward. It was important the stamp come from a small business. I was thrilled to be able to support a film about the success of a woman building her business from the ground up.

The stamps were shipping out within 24 hours and the set designed text us that it was the piece that was missing and a photo from the set. I loved seeing it on set.
Fast forward and the movie is now on DVD, there are two parts that if you pause the movie you can see it sitting on the desk behind Robert De Niro. I loved being able to do something I love and also be part of Hollywood.

(above) I paused the movie and took a photo.. that green arm is Jennifer Lawrence. The custom rubber stamp was used in a scene that featured actor Robert De Niro stamping custom invoices in his auto shop. I love being able to make custom rubber stamps and If you are interested please contact us or visit our custom stamp page.
